(This is an oldie! It’s actually from 2011. Check Doug out. Good 2020 isolation sounds.)

Think turtle. Think tank. Think armadillo.
Remember the tin rooves of your youth.
Gutters, eaves, and overhangers. Rusting. No. Galvanized Steel.
Great inhales. Riding up a body.
I met a friend who said you have to love yourself. I'm confused but I'm always a gentleman.

Climbed in as you would a shell.
Think turtle. Think armadillo. Think tank.
A shell. Copper and aluminum. Plastic and wood.
Isn't this what they would call a pulley system.
A body. Body and bone. Exoskeleton.
Extra necessary.
You're ready to go. But have time to think.

Fidget. This might be one time to envy the lobotomized.
Think. This might be one time to wish you'd taken the stairs.
Long for free circulation. Adjust the front of your shirt, your collar, the pockets of your pants.
Remember the iron sitting on the counter next to the stove.
Face forward. Bits of other people. Contained. Is anyone ever one.
